Vars les Claux is the largest, most modern and highest of the 3 villages of the Vars resort. This resort, with Risoul, makes up the biggest ski slope area of the Southern Alps: the La Forêt Blanche ski slopes. The resort is specialized in speed-record trials. To date, it holds several world records. This aside, the slopes are mainly destined for medium-level skiers. To attract off-piste skiers, the Chabrières peaks give way to numerous gullies.
